Tour notes

Group size: 4–12 riders, excluding the guide. No pillion passengers.

Refundable damage deposit: Each rider pays an additional N$13,500 refundable motorcycle insurance/damage deposit, separate from the tour price. Refundability depends on the motorcycle’s condition and the final damage-deposit terms. Payment timing and exact return conditions are still to be confirmed.

The full tour price must be paid at least 30 days before departure so the necessary tour arrangements and accommodation bookings can proceed. The motorcycle deposit is additional and is not part of the tour price. Whether an initial booking deposit is required, and its amount, are still to be confirmed.

Room choice: Request a shared or separate room. Starting prices are based on sharing; your room choice and price are confirmed in your quotation.

Khomas Highlands

West of Windhoek, the Khomas Highlands unfold in rugged hills, broad valleys and gravel passes. Around Gamsberg, the high country meets the edge of the Namib, with long views across a changing landscape.

Highland scenery on all four routes. Specific roads and viewpoints follow the final roadbook.

An oasis in the Moon Landscape

Goanikontes

Palms and greenery sit against bare, sculpted hills in the Swakop River valley. Goanikontes offers a striking change of scenery near the coast, surrounded by the rugged terrain of the Moon Landscape.

An overnight stop on the 4- and 8-day tours. Restricted areas are explored by vehicle where required.

Where the desert meets the Atlantic

Swakopmund

Swakopmund brings sea air, a beachfront promenade and a historic jetty to the desert journey. Between town and Walvis Bay, pale dunes run close to the Atlantic shoreline—a vivid contrast to the inland gravel roads.

Red dunes & the stillness of Deadvlei

Sossusvlei

Curving red dunes rise above the pale pans of the Namib. Nearby Deadvlei is known for its dark camelthorn tree skeletons, creating a remarkable contrast of white ground, orange sand and blue sky.

On the 7-, 8- and 10-day tours. This is a vehicle excursion and walk; motorcycles remain outside the park.

Granite peaks above the plains

Spitzkoppe

Spitzkoppe rises sharply from the surrounding plains, framed by rounded granite boulders and open country. Its distinctive peaks and rock formations make this one of the route’s most memorable landscapes.

On the 7-, 8- and 10-day routes, before the overnight stay in Erongo. Visits use approved access roads.

Boulder country & mountain views

Erongo

The Erongo Mountains combine granite outcrops, rocky gorges and broad savanna views. Hohenstein forms a dramatic mountain backdrop, while rounded boulder formations give the surrounding country its distinctive character.

The mountain base on the 7-, 8- and 10-day tours. The 10-day route adds an Erongo and Omaruru riding loop.

A mountain landmark in wide desert country

Brandberg

The Brandberg massif rises above dry plains in western Namibia. Broad mountain views and sparse, rugged country give this part of the journey a more remote feel, with a different scale and rhythm from the coast.
